The Home Page of Squeak for SL Series Zaurus (ZauChu) and Qtopia/iPAQ
Introduction
This is the home page of Squeak
programming system that runs on Qtopia/Linux based PDAs. Such PDAs
include a series of product called Zaurus from Sharp, and self-installed Linux for iPAQ
I'd like to call this system "Squeak/Zaurus" officially, but also put a nickname "ZauChu".
Given the past product names from sharp, I would guess that "SL" in SL Zaurus stands for "Sharp-Linux," for what it's worth...
Download and Install
If you're using the models for Japanese market (or got it from Dynamism.com), download squeak_arm-3.4-2-zaurus.ipk and
install it via the software package tool.
If you're using the overseas model such as SL-5500, squeak_arm-3.4-2-ipaq.ipk may
work, but may not. If you give it a try, please let me know how it
goes.
If you're using Qtopia on iPAQ, squeak_arm-3.4-2-ipaq.ipk should
work. If not, complain Lars Dormheim.
You will need to get some more files to use Squeak. See the other
guys page for more info. Sumi-san's page is
great.

Command(Alt) Key
Fn key generally works as Alt (or Command) key. However, if the key has assigned a Fn combination, the combination
is used instead.
Sound
The interpreter hangs after playing sound in the default setting.
You should set soundStopWhenDone preferences to true. (Although, there will be still some oddity remaining.)
Projector Output
The VM supports the
projector output CF cardfrom I/O DATA. If the VM detects the
card upon start-up, it automatically starts displaying the content
to the projector.

The source archive is also available here. Follow the instruction
